Vivienne Westwood | Unveils 2022 Bridal Collections

Vivienne Westwood

Revered British designer, Vivienne Westwood has unveiled her magnificent 2022 bridal offering to the industry. Constructed of three capsule collections; made-to-order, couture and the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood collection, brides will not only be seduced by the collections’ rather heavenly ethereal appeal, but the sustainable thread that pieces them altogether.

Vivienne Westwood

The label’s 2022 made-to-order bridal collection, as the brand discloses, ‘embodies a sense of new beginnings’. Startlingly beautiful in its arrival, the line brings together an explosive palette of dreamy sheer fabrics – achingly elegant in their transparency – contemporary, three-dimensional silhouettes and, of course, Vivienne Westwood’s signature pattern cutting techniques, corsetry and innovative silhouettes. An emergence of floral details further betray this sense of optimism, ‘symbolising renewal’, the brand reveals. Every piece of the new collection is, as the label states, ‘from another world, sculpted for goddesses’.

Assembled from fifteen gowns and nine separate styling pieces (each available in a selection of beautiful fabrics and finishes) the new Vivienne Westwood made-to-order bridal collection is notably environmentally conscious too. Brides can opt for anything from an ivory recycled tulle to a FSC certified viscose (a vegan alternative to silk and satin).

With regards to the Vivienne Westwood 2022 bridal couture collection, here arises a selection of designs that take ‘inspiration from influential women from the arts and literature – from ancient Greece to modern day heroines.

An avant-garde treasure box of gowns arrive, some dripping in shimmering pearls, others structured in gold and named Aphrodite. Be swept up in the glittering appeal of Goddess and her delicate tulle, that swirls – like smoke – around a highly elegant bodice. Josephine, an opera coat, embroidered painstakingly with a luxurious blend of pearls and ostrich features will endlessly appeal to the modern bride who searches for something no-one will forget as she takes to the aisle.

For the new season, the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring-Summer 2022 bespoke bridal collection effortlessly delights and surprises with its experimentation with proportion.

Threading inspiration from the likes of Marilyn Monroe alongside, what the brand notes as, ’a modern interpretation of a historic Marie Antoinette gown’, the exclusive line is drenched in luxurious details, including draped Chantilly lace finished with feathers, silk taffeta bows and tulle boleros. Each look from the collection is from the Spring Summer 2022 runway collection and can be made-to-measure.

Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood notably not only utilises more environmentally sustainable forms of production but looks to champion traditional craftsmanship and the communities that surround this. All bespoke, made-to-order and bridal collections are designed, sampled and handcrafted locally in England. Not only this, but the couture team offer a service that enables brides to transform their wedding dresses after walking down the aisle, creating a piece that can be worn time and time again post-wedding.
