But brides, you need look no further. Yes, today is the day you can finally stop the skincare scrolling as we’re about to introduce you to what we’re sure will be the new love of your life (well a close second to the fiancé anyway!); The Face Planner. Set up by self-professed skincare junkie Emma Dobbie, The Face Planner was launched following her own frustrations as a bride…

“There seemed to be answers and help for brides with every other aspect of wedding planning, but nothing for skincare!”

Emma Dobbie, founder of The Face Planner

So this is exactly what The Face Planner is. The answer you’ve been looking for. A one-stop-shop for an array of tried, tested and dermatologist-approved skincare plans to renew your complexion and confidence in the run-up to the big day. If you picked up the newest issue of Your Day (the summer one!), you might have already seen a snippet from the brand, but here we catch up with Emma to decode all things bridal beauty including the skincare plans available, all things ingredients, and the very best time for you to kick-start your new routine.

What does The Face Planner offer brides and grooms?

“We sell all of our own skincare products in ‘plans’ ranging from two products for £88, to six products designed to last for three months for £385. Our plans have been designed to get our customers radiant and ready for their big day (think weddings, milestone birthdays etc) by using stress-busting and glow-giving ingredients that have been gently formulated. We sell all of our products in plans as we truly believe the best results come from using products that have been made to work together and enhance one another, instead of picking and choosing from lots of different brands and not knowing if the formulations are compatible.”

How long before the big day would you recommend starting a skincare plan?

“If you are super organised, six months! But three months is a good amount of time to see real results from certain ingredients.”

What results can a bride or groom expect to see?

“After the first couple of weeks; refreshed skin texture, improved hydration, bright and smoother skin. After one month; plumper skin and notably brighter under-eyes. After three months; reduced fine lines, dark spots, breakouts and blemishes.”

What are some of the key ingredients?

“We have made sure not to duplicate ingredients across the products so that you aren’t overlapping. But expect niacinamide, ceramides, peptides, hyaluronic acid, azelaic acid, glycolic acid, vitamin C and plant-derived ingredients such as organic witch hazel, mallow extract, olive oil and sweet almond oil.”

“Don’t introduce any new products or treatments the month before your wedding.”

Emma Dobbie, founder of The Face Planner

Can the products be used as part of a permanent skincare routine?

“Yes, when you buy a plan from us you unlock access to ‘top-up’ your plan (buy our products individually), so after your big event you can keep topping up with your favourites for your daily skincare routine.”

What’s the best plan for someone with sensitive or spot prone skin?

“All of our products have been tested on sensitive skin. I would recommend any of the plans that include our gentle face mask, THE REVITALISER, which is great for reducing inflammation and breakouts. Our inbox is always open for specific questions: hello@thefaceplanner.com.”

Are the products dermatologist approved?

“Yes, we worked alongside renowned dermatologist Dr. Catherine Borysiewicz to develop the product formulations.”

What are some skincare mistakes to avoid before the wedding?

“Don’t introduce any new products or treatments the month before your wedding! Your diet will play a huge role in your wedding preparations so keep it healthy and balanced and don’t deprive yourself. Use skincare and bodycare products that are gently formulated without abrasive or stripping ingredients – your stress levels will make your skin more sensitive and therefore more likely to break out.”

Can you tell us a bit about The Face Planner Retreat?

“We offer bespoke three night retreats for up to 12 people at our brand home in Tuscany. The property is where we source many of the plant-based ingredients for our products. We want to offer our customers a true inside-out approach to skincare and wellness in general, and a three night retreat focusing on yourself, movement, mindfulness and nutrition offers you and your loved ones the perfect space to do this.”

Do you have a favourite product?

“Without a doubt it is our serum, THE SUPER HYDRATOR. I have used it daily for years and no other serums have come close for me (I have tried a lot!).”

Where the products are made? What about sustainability?

“The products are 100% made in Italy at a small-batch production lab in Northern Italy at the foot of the Dolomites. Our packaging is also 100% sourced in Italy. We don’t believe in ‘more is more’; instead of a 20-step routine, we only create what the skin really needs. The plastic elements of our packaging are made from post-industrial recycled plastics which can be re-recycled. We chose glass bottles for its lower environmental impact, durability and ease of reuse/recyclability. We are also working towards introducing a refillable system for all of our products. We only work with ingredient suppliers who can ensure through the relevant certifications that the ingredients they are providing are reliable, safe and excellent quality.”
