In her own words, Sarah Olivia is “hardwired to photograph in a candid way that will capture the feelings you actually felt on your wedding day.” A skill that I think we all seek when searching for our wedding day photographer. There’s nothing better than leafing through beautifully captured frames that whisk you directly back to that exact moment in time where, perhaps your partner dropped their slice of the wedding cake on you and you erupted into laughter, or you saw your fiancé for the first time at the end of the aisle. There’s no doubt that we all dream to relive the happiest of moments over and over, and with a good photographer like Sarah Olivia by your side, these creatives give you the opportunity to do just that.
This innate candid touch of Sarah’s is also recognisable in her latest elopement editorial, where she collaborated with a select few of handpicked vendors to bring real editorial magic to the table. “We were inspired by a new experience! Bringing a horse to the coast and Megan (Curated Mess Co.) mentioned it was enjoyable pushing the boundaries of what “bridal” is,” explains Sarah, noting the inspiration behind this Instagram-worthy shoot.
Debuting considered natural touches of detail including, as Sarah notes: “an organic head piece made by Novella Theory Floral for the model, Cieries and the rest of the flowers worked into the mane of the horse with the stark contrast of the beach and ocean.” We love the palette that these natural textures and the sheer tulle of the gown combine to create.
