Grace Loves Lace | Launches Eco Wedding Gown

Grace Loves Lace

Australian bridal powerhouse, Grace Loves Lace unveiled their second eco wedding gown, Peaches Pearl this February 2022.

Since the label was conceived back in 2010, Founder and Creative Director, Megan Ziems has been “championing a non-mass produced, ethical and Australian-made business model from day one,” and continues to seek new ways in which the brand can improve on its sustainable credentials. So far, the Australian label has taken steps by revolutionising business practices, increasing their GRACE conscious design selection and creating new, sustainable fabrics, including the 100% recycled lace used to craft the Grace Loves Lace eco gowns (that Megan invented over a two-year period).

Peaches Pearl, the second eco wedding dress produced by Grace Loves Lace (the first was their celebrated Lumi gown that arrived back in 2021), brings to the table a signature GLL style reimagined incorporating the designer’s 100% recycled, GRS certified pearl lace. This effective use of fabric means that overall, the gown’s composition is made up of 95.5% recycled materials.

“Knowing that up to two-thirds of the sustainability impact of fashion happens at the raw materials stage, we made the decision to source and develop our own 100% eco lace in our signature pearl design. We were inspired to take materials that would have been otherwise discarded and use modern technology to create a luxurious fabrication that brides can feel proud to wear on their wedding day,” explains Megan Ziems. “We knew we wanted to launch more styles in our eco lace and with so much customer love for our classic Peaches gown, we knew she was ‘the one!’ The pearlescent threading and scale of the floral pattern really revolutionises the style, making her a standout gown.”

Alongside the launch of Peaches Pearl, Grace Loves Lace has unveiled a new recycling initiative, in partnership with Australian-based recycling firm, Upparel. This step allows for the brand to revolutionise its recycling model, meaning 100% of its fabric waste will be recycled.

“Our partnerships are revolutionising the way that textiles are upcycled and recycled and we are excited to start working with Grace Loves Lace and embark on this sustainability journey together,” says Sonia Konstantinou, Partnerships Manager at Upparel.
